Gridders Deliver Against Wildcats In 20-Point Win


From one big game to another, that is the current situation for the Scobey High School’s varsity football team.
The Spartans won a hard-fought contest Friday in Circle by a 26-6 score and now they get to do it all over again this Friday night in Ekalaka, where they will go to battle against a very good Carter County Bulldogs team.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (Radio: KCGM 95.7 FM).
Thus far the Bulldogs have posted wins over the Forsyth Dogies 40-0 in week one, Plentywood Wildcats 44-8 in week two and Mon-Dak Thunder of the Westby and Grenora communities 68-26 in week three.
Last Friday’s game in Circle was a very tight one in the first half and into the first two series of the third quarter before the Spartans pulled away from the Wildcats.
Circle was on offense first and had to punt the ball away, which came down close to the goal line. The Spartans fumbled, the ball rolled into the end zone and the Wildcats pounced on it for an easy 6 points.
Three Scobey possessions later the boys wearing blue and gold started their third offensive possession at their own 37-yard line. Following a pair of 1-yard rushes, making it 3rd-and-8 from their own 39-yard line, quarterback Reese Tande passed to Kolten Machart for a big gain of 28 yards.
