Mucho Volleyball This Saturday In Scobey High Gyms

If one is into volleyball then this weekend is like Christmas Day morning as the Scobey Spartans host their own invitational tournament Saturday, September 13, in both gymnasiums.

Action begins bright and early at 8 a.m. when the host Scobey Spartans take on the Nashua Porcupines in the small gymnasium. Also beginning at 8 a.m. in the large gym are the Culbertson Cowgirls versus the Froid-Lake Redhawks on Court 1 and Garfield County (Jordan) Mustangs versus Lustre Christian Lions on Court 2.

Pool play concludes around 4:15 p.m. and shifts into tourney play to determine the champion.

Some of the particulars of the event include: top three teams from each pool advance to tournament play; single elimination; best two out of three with normal scoring with the third game up to 15 points; 10-minute warmup period (4-4-2 minutes); tournament bracket matchups at 4:45 p.m. have 2nd pool B versus 3rd pool A on court 1 (winner plays 1st in pool A in the semifinals) and on court 2 the 2nd place team from pool A versus 3rd pool B (winner plays 1st in pool B in semifinals). Winners of the semifinals meet in the championship match.
