Gridiron Action Shifts Into More Competitive Mode Versus Circle


Things become much more intense for the Scobey Spartans this Friday night when traveling to Circle in a big early-season East C Division get-together.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., a matchup pitting topranked Scobey and the fifthranked Wildcats in the Class C 8-man ranks across the state.
Circle defeated the Mon-Dak Thunder of the Westby and Grenora communities 59-6 in week one and had a bye during last weekend’s action.
Scobey is undefeated thus far, having won on the road against Plentywood 48-6 in week one and last Friday night on home turf against MonDak, a 60-6 final.
The Spartans wasted little time getting on the scoreboard after forcing the Thunder to punt when not creating a first-and-10 situation after three plays. Scobey didn’t field the kick and let it settle at its own 13yard line. On the very first offensive play from scrimmage the Spartans went for it all as Bram Handran ran a deep post route across the middle and quarterback Reese Tande perfectly hit him in stride for a quick six points.
After another three-andout defensively, the Spartans started at their own 10-yard line and made real quick work of it as Kolten Machart rushed for 32 yards, positioning the ball at MonDak’s 38-yard line. Next was a hand-off to Konner Oller and he wasted little time in taking it to the house for a 14-0 lead.
