BASKETBALL — In black and white: The first basketball game on television was aired February 28, 1940 when Fordham played Pitt in college hoops. The first televised professional game occurred November 1, 1946, featuring the New York Knickerbockers and Toronto Huskies, with the Knicks winning 68-66.

TRACK AND FIELD — School loop: There have been times in March and April when one can witness the Scobey High School track and field athletes running around the campus. On the north side of the school is 2nd Avenue East and on the south side is 3rd Avenue East, which are the two longest straight stretches of the rectangular loop.
