A first name can be spelled any way parents choose. There is no right or wrong. A name can be pronounced however the parents or named one, chooses. We find that interesting even though this was pointed out to us about 50 years ago.
Not too often, but every once in a while a new or really different name crosses the radar. We attended a high school graduation recently where we saw some cool first names and one we thought to be unique.
There was an Octavius, which is just kinda cool — Nakai, Danil, Emalia and a variety of other ethnic names, and names we would consider misspelled. The standout favorite for our group was “Ampersand.”
