Is there two more days of golf magic left in his bag of clubs and his shots on the Sidney Country Club 18hole golf course when the Montana High School Association Class C State Golf Meet is played there May 20-21?

For starters, the word "his" needs to be defined because one could insert the names of Scobey High School’s Cooper Axtman, Teagan Fishell, Brecken Maher and Evan Tande because any one would work, as would the name Carson Solberg of Plentywood.

That’s just some of the names of the top East C Division golfers as there are more traveling to Sidney from the West Division, with the Manhattan Christian Eagles looking ready to soar, names such as Carter Van Dyken (77), Max Venhuizen (85) and Cavan Visser (73), who carded all three of those scores on Bozeman’s Cottonwood Country Club course last week in Bozeman during the West C Divisional Meet. Might as well throw in Jaxon Gallagher (78, Stillwater Golf Course) and teammate Tristen Phillips (83, Stillwater) of the Absarokee Huskies, Grady Dow of the Centerville Miners (80, Choteau Country Club), Denver Thomas of the St. Regis Tigers (80, Wildhorse Golf Course) and Aiden Posthumus of the Seeley-Swan Blackhawks (82, Wildhorse Golf Course) and for good measure we’ll throw in the Kaul brothers of Plentywood, with Andy carding an 81 on Wolf Point’s 9-holer and Aydan an 85 on Sidney’s 18.

Are you ready for this? Scobey juniors Axtman and Tande were tied right off the hop and Tande had the lead through holes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 before a par-4 on the 359-yard No. 8 put Axtman on top by one stroke with Tande and Maher one back. The next hole, a 43...
