Taken from the unapproved minutes and reporter’s notes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 8:30 a.m.

REGULAR MEETING Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with councilmembers Seth Axtman, Niki Larson, Brian French, and Greg Crowder were present. Mike Farris, Fire Chief Wyatt Wilder, City Attorney Samatha Howard, PWD Steve Berreth, and Clerk Sonya M. Southland were also in attendance.

Pool Manager – PWD Steve Berreth reported that the Pool Engineer with Interstate Engineering will inspect the pool this week. As lifeguard training is scheduled for May 31st, the pool must be operational by then.

Public Works Report

• PWD Steve Berreth reported the crew is sweeping streets and will do it again before the reunion. Additionally, a reminder is issued that if organizations are conducting work on City property, please notify the City.

• The last tower of the pivot has been removed, and the axle and tires have been saved; one tire has already been used. They are working on the auto-start system, and the dog leg at the pivot will be rebuilt. And a new pontoon raft that holds the motor is being rebuilt. Both these pieces are original.

Zoning Administrator Repor – Zoning Administrator Steve Berreth presented zoning permits for 109 A St, 504 B St, 506 B St, 410 1st Ave, and 100 RR Ave. All permits were in compliance. Councilwoman Larson moved to approve the permits as presented, with one stipulation on the commercial permit: we must receive the official FFA letter before mailing the approved permit. Motion seconded and passed.
