City Business . . .

Taken from the unapproved minutes and reporter’s notes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 8:30 a.m.

REGULAR MEETING Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with councilmembers Seth Axtman, Niki Larson, Brian French and Greg Crowder present. Fire Chief Wyatt Wilder, Undersheriff Rex Morgan, City Attorney Samatha Howard and Clerk Sonya M. Southland also attended.

Public Works — Mayor Lekvold reported on behalf of PWD Berreth – Steve and Paul are at continuing education training in Culbertson today.

The Garbage Truck will be picked up and sent to Billings for a new body and other repairs. The city will use the smaller backup garbage truck. The City will not haul it to Sheridan County with the smaller truck; the County has not started hauling yet. Consensus was not to haul to Sheridan County until the County does.

Zoning Administrator – No report other than the next April 9, 2025 meeting. Mayor Lekvold reported that some expired terms are on the zoning board. Is anyone interested, or do you know of anyone interested in serving on the Zoning/ Planning Board?

Study Commission – The next regular meeting is April 9, 2025, at City Hall, and the Public Informational meeting is April 17, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Nemont Friendship Room.
