Scobey JH Athletes Pile Up 48 PRs At Own Invitational

Four team titles available, four team titles earned by the Scobey Spartans in junior high track and field action Saturday, May 4.

Held at Lowry Field adjacent to Wolf Point High School, the young Spartans captured first place in all four divisions on a day where it was 49 degrees, mostly sunny and nary a hint of wind in the air at the 10 a.m. start. In other words, a perfect track and field day that stayed that way until the end.

The Scobey eighth grade girls piled up 17 personal records while the seventh graders had nine. For the boys, the Spartans had a dozen PRs in the eighth grade division and 10 in the seventh grade level.

Coached by Scott Mc-Gowan and Kaitlin Switzer, the young Spartans wrap up the 2024 season on Friday, May 10, at the District 3C Meet in Glasgow starting at 9 a.m., which will be held in conjunction with the District 2B Meet on Scottie Field.
