GABRIELLA BENZINGER, the 18-year-old daughter of Jacob Lund (SHS ‘99) and granddaughter of Mikel and Nancy Lund of Scobey, is now a state champion. She plays goalie for the Bozeman Ice Dogs and is shown hoisting the first-place trophy following the championship game of the 19 and Under Girls Hockey State Tournament at the Valley Event Center in Glasgow. In pool play the Ice Dogs tied Flathead 2-2, defeated Havre 4-2, doubled Great Falls 12-6 and was defeated 2-1 by Missoula. In the championship game Bozeman defeated Missoula 4-3. Jacob’s other children were wrestling at an AAU Tournament in Helena at the same time as the hockey tourney in Glasgow, with Ava (age 16) placing first, Charlee (age 14) second and Dylan (age 7) first.
