Taken from the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday, February 13, 2024

at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall.

REGULAR MEETING

Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with council members Niki Larson, Seth Axtman, Greg Crowder and Paul Landeraaen present. Also in attendance were Bridget Norby, Brian French, Commissioner Mikel Lund, Fire Chief Wyatt Wilder (8:42 a.m.), TAC Officer Shauna Lowe, Sheriff Clint Lowe, PWD Steve Berreth and Clerk Sonya M. Southland. Public Works Report – PWD Steve Berreth reported: • Researching different splash pads options ranging from equipment costs of $75,000 to $175,000 – options include recycling water, discussed building it without recirculation and adding that later. Installation usually costs about the same as the equipment.

• There was a private service line break last week causing some water to pool on First Ave. - water has been shut off to that property until line is fixed.

Sheriff Report – Mayor Lekvold congratulated Clint Lowe on being sworn in as the DC Interim Sheriff. Sheriff Lowe reported on the happenings of the Sheriff's Office including a rundown on calls received, one inmate incarcerated, water damage and remodeling at the Sheriff's Office, an ongoing theft investigation, interviews scheduled for the deputy positions, firearm report, F150 pickup engine issues and the radios.
