It was reported in the September 21, 2023 issue of the Daniels County Leader that a young lad named Zachary Brenden of Bismarck, North Dakota and his curling teammates had qualified for the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games in South Korea.

It starts tomorrow, Friday, January 19, 2024 and runs through February 1.

Zachary is the son of Eric (SHS ‘93) and Tara Brenden of Bismarck and the grandson of John and Carol Brenden of Scobey and Jim Lekvold and Shirleen Baker of Bismarck. The aforementioned six and Zach’s younger sister, 10-year-old Ashley, will be part of the cheering section for the mixed doubles of Team Ponzio.

The name comes from Kenna Ponzio, who is the skip of the team and lives in Savage, Minnesota. The other...
