Last week’s zero at the end of the Scobey boys’ varsity basketball team’s record remains intact following two wins on its home court during the Scobey Tournament.

The Spartans will try to stretch it to 6-0 when traveling to the Dodson High School gymnasium, the Bermuda Triangle of radio sports broadcasting as it is situated in a low-elevation spot (2,250 feet above sea level) between Fort Belknap/Harlem (2,339) and Malta (2,275). The Friday night opening tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Scobey returns to its home court Saturday when hosting the Circle Wildcats, who are in their first season of basketball in District 3C after decades of being in District 2C. The opening tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.

The Spartans opened last weekend’s 4-team tourney on their home hardwood by facing the Froid-Lake Redhawks in a 7:49 p.m. tip-off.

John Carney’s jumper made it 2-0 but Mason Dethman, Froid-Lake’s 6-foot-5 senior who is headed to Montana State University in Bozeman to play football for the Bobcats, knotted it with a field goal.

Scobey then began pulling away.
