Points were aplenty at Plainsmen Field when the Scobey Spartans took on the Poplar Indians last week in East C Division 8-man football action. One-hundred-and-six total with the homecoming host tallying the most in a 72-34 final. Now the boys wearing blue and gold hope they can pull off a duplicate performance Friday night in Circle, where the host Wildcats go into the game as the third-place team in the conference standings. The round-towners opened the season with three straight victories: VO22 over Shelby; 76-32 over Culbertson; 44-0 over Poplar. Two minutes and 40 seconds later of game clock number 21 (Alex Moreno) sped 21 yards for the second TD with Machart adding the 2-pointer. Poplar’s third possession ended like the second: fumble, recovered by freshman Aydan Stentoft, giving Scobey’s offense its second consecutive short field, this time at the Poplar 28. Four plays later it was 24-zip as Maher scored from four yards out and Torsten Lamb added the 2-pointer. The Indians fumbled again on their fourth possession with Machart falling on it 25 yards from the goal line. Moreno gained 16 yards on first down, Tyler Leischner added six on second down and Maher ran for nine an...
