CROSS COUNTRY — The Queens and Kings of state championships: What teams in the Montana High School Association sport of cross country have won the most state titles in the four classifications since the sport started in 1964 for boys and 1971 for girls? In ClassAAgirls, the Bozeman Hawks top the list with 16 state titles, including 1982-83, 11 in a row from 2007-2017 and three in a row from 2019-21. Rounding out the top five are Flathead High with 12, Great Falls CMR 8, Great Falls High 4 and Kalispell Glacier 3. In ClassAAboys, the Bozeman Hawks are the leader with 15 state titles, including 1983, 2006, 12 in a row from 2008-19 and tacking on number 15 in 2022. Sitting in second are Flathead High with 10, Billings Senior and Billings Skyview each with 5 and Great Falls CMR and Helena Capital each with 4. In ClassAgirls, the Fergus County Golden Eagles based in Lewistown lead the way with 10: 1971-72-83-84-85-86-88-96-98-99. Next are Glasgow with 8, Hardin 6, Corvallis 5...
