Enjoy your run/walk/run-walk through the courses, with 38 of them being held on golf courses. On your mark, get set, go!

Anaconda — Its race is held on the Anaconda Country Club Golf Course, which officially opened in 1917 in the community of Opportunity along Interstate 90 near mile marker 206. The Anaconda Company owned a copper smelter in the city of Anaconda and built the 9-hole golf course for its employees. Unbeknownst to the Anaconda Company at the time — 106 years ago — this location would be hosting a cross country meet. It is a totally flat track around the course with Mill Creek flowing right through it with cottonwood, pine and willow trees scattered about.

Arlee — It’s called the Fish Hatchery Run with the course run-ning along the Jocko River, with the fish hatchery right next to the river. “A lot of the smaller schools show up for this meet,” said Ronan Coach Dennis.

Belgrade — The course runs through the Gallatin Regional Park, which is a figure-eight loop.

Big Timber — The Overland Golf Course, nestled at the base of the Crazy Mountains, plays host to the Crazy Mountain Classic, which goes Saturday, September 30, this season. It's mostly flat with a few incli...
