Crowd Swelters In 103 Degree Heat–

Monday, July 5th was hot and windy as Scobey observed its annual Independence Day celebration. For those that attended if was eventful – the big parade, events at the grounds, Junior Legion baseball game, a display of fireworks and dancing at the Tip-Top.

The American Legion, sponsored and financed the main events at the grounds, its loss at the gate was approximately $100. The deficit was covered by a concession stand and a benefit dance. For many it was too hot to sit out in the uncovered bleachers.
