Taken from the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday, March 28, 2023

at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall.

REGULAR MEETING

Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with councilmen Jon Baker, Scott Fishell, Seth Axtman, Paul Landeraaen present.

Also, in attendance were Dorothy Holum,Andi Berry, Matt Selvig, PWD Steve Berreth, Tammi Fladager (9:03) and Clerk Sonya M. Southland.

Public Comment – Dorothy Holum, secretary for the Airport Board presented a request for FAA Approval of Agreement for Transfer of Entitlements. As a sponsor/ owner the city will sign off.

Public Works Report – PWD Steve Berreth reported: He attended RuralWater Conference. Both garbage trucks are broken down, parts have been ordered. He presented a quote from Leibrand Construction to prepare the slab for the new shop. Crew is working on removing ice off the streets – City is having one car removed due to causing issues with ice/water back up. City is interested in purchasing a plow to attach to a pickup – 4wd1 ton dually with a plow on front and sander on the back, and additional plow.

Council Comment – Councilman Axtman inquired about drainage issues on the west end of Smith Street.

Discussion occurred about how to get snow pushed out further into the adjacent field where water could run down the natural drainage ditch and not the adjacent alley and into the lowest yard. Councilman Fishell stated if city does our due diligent to keep the water flowing, he feels it isn't the City’s problem, water always runs to the lowest spot.
