Taken from the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday, January 10, 2023

at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall.

REGULAR MEETING

Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with councilmen Scott Fishell, Seth Axtman, Paul Landeraaen and Jon Baker present. Also, in attendance were Deputy Canyon Miwa, Undersheriff Mona Vines, Sheriff Duane Anderson, Fire Chief Wyatt Wilder, City Attorney Ben Fosland, PWDSteveBerrethandClerk Sonya M. Southland.

Public Works Report – PWD Steve Berreth reported:

• Truck parts ordered

• Skid steer in Williston for warranty work

• Repairs made on the maintainer and loader

• Water break at 302 Daniels was determined to be a service line - Looks like its been leaking for a while – searching for areas of possible water loss Zoning Administrator Report – Zoning Administrator Steve Berreth reported a zoning meeting (work session) scheduled for Jan. 11, 2023.

Fire Chief Report – Fire Chief Wilder had no fire department report; but said the Lions Club is planning another skating rink party.

Sheriff Report – Sheriff Anderson said the demolition of the office remodel is almost complete and asked if the remodel project needs to apply for a zoning permit – no permit required, but a state building permit is required for remodel on a commercial building. Sheriff and Undersheriff Vines explained the CAD system and how the new system allows them to gather and report information more effectually, plus better communication between officers. The two deputies are spending about 80% of their time patrolling within the city limits, however Deputy Lowe is currently at training. There will be a four-day active shooting training held this spring.
