Bank Deposits Up $400,000 Since Jan. 1–

Total deposits at the Citizens State Bank of Scobey at year’s end were at a record- breaking high mark of more than 4 1/4 million dollars. Cashier P. B. Murphy stated its deposits have increased $400,000 since the first of the year.

Flaxville’s bank, according to J. J. Goehring, shows deposits up about $200,000 since the first of the year with deposits in a single day running as high as $60,000.

Goehring, estimates that about $1,000,000 will leave the county in the next few weeks in federal income taxes. Ormand Paus at the Scobey Marshal-Wells store states that sales for that store during the month of August 1931 totaled $1,100 - a figure equal to just one day’s business last Saturday.
