County School Census Shows Steady Decrease–

The County Superintendent, headed by Mrs. Alma Shipstead, is busy compiling reports from various school districts in preparation of the 1947 school census.

All children ages 6 to 21 years, whether in school or not, are included in the report. The figure is expected to be about that for 1946, which was 1081. Ten years ago the census of school children in the county was 1850. The number has continued to decrease: 1560 in 1937; 1242 in 1942; to 1081 in 1946. Mrs. Shipstead pointed o...
