Council Votes 40 Mill Levy For City In ‘47–

Scobey’s mayor and councilmen examined the balance sheet for the fiscal period ending June 30,1947, and with the other collective eye glanced at prospective expenditures for the current fiscal period. They saw an immediate future of heavy expenditures. Although inflationary prices and wages account for some of the budget increase, the council was gratified that the balance was caused by a program of civic improvements.
