Here is one of the most weird photos one will ever see in the *T*I*P* column. It was posted on the National Weather Service’s website Monday, July 18, and originated in the Glasgow, Montana office. Here’s what the NWS in Glasgow had to say about it: “Our weather balloon was consistently heading east/northeast this evening (Monday, July 18), but amidst ongoing severe weather got caught up in some rotation about 6:40 p.m. near Bredette (south of Scobey) based on the track shown (purple line).

At this point the instrument was several miles above ground.”
