BASEBALL — Playoff time: American Legion Baseball's Eastern A District Tournament was held last week at Pirtz Field in Billings. The 6-team field consisted of the Billings Blue Jays, Billings Cardinals, Glasgow Reds, Glendive Blue Devils, Miles City Mavericks and Richland County Patriots based in Sidney. Some might be thinking what about the Froid Agland Bulls, featuring Scobey players Cooper King and Colter Oie and assistant coach Jackson Oie? The Bulls played as an independent team this season, meaning they were not part of the conference and did not get to play in the East A tourney. They did, however, play in quite a few regular-season tourneys, such as Billings, Glendive and Miles City in Montana and Watford City and Williston in North Dakota. The top-seeded Laurel Dodgers (36-12) defeated the second-seeded Billings Cardinals (37-8-1) 7-6 in Sunday's championship game on a very hot afternoon. Both team...
