MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DANIELS COUNTY, MONTANA, HELD JUNE 6, 7, and 20, 2022 AND SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 27, 2022.

REGULAR MEETING

June 6, 9 o’clock a.m.

The Board met in regular session, Commissioners Lund, Linder and Humbert were present with the clerk, Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Commissioner Linder made a motion to approve the agenda, Commissioner Humbert seconded the motion, all present voted in favor, motion passed.

Mayor Morgan Lekvold met with the Board to talk about possibly reducing the landfill cost for old buildings in town being torn down and dumped. The Board said it would have to be discussed with the Solid Waste Board.

Commissioner Humbert made a motion to approve the May 2022 minutes, Commissioner Linder seconded the motion, all present voted in favor, motion passed.

Jerod Nieskens, Tammi Fladager and Logan Olson met with the Board to discuss cameras being put in the courtroom, hallway going to court offices and the stairway. The cost of the cameras and the installation will be paid out of the Justice Court budget and the cost of the internet split between Justice Court, District Court and Superintendent of Schools.

The Board approved JV#’s 8446-8448.

The Board approved payroll for May 2022.

The Board reviewed the officer reports for May 2022.

The Board approved the Chairman signing the Award Recommendation Letter, Notice of Award and Grant Application Amendment Letter for the Scobey AIP014 Project.

The Board reviewed some board appointments. Commissioner Humbert made a motion to appoint Angela Berreth and Wendy Cromwell to the Library Board, Commissioner Linder seconded the motion, all present voted in favor, motion passed. Commissioner Lund made a motion to appoint Lois Leibrand to the Council on Aging Board, Commissioner Linder seconded the motion, all present voted in favor, motion passed.

The Board discussed that the Tax Appeal Board needed all new members. They contacted Rick Anderson, Troy Larson and Morgan Oie. All said they would be willing to service on that Board. Commissioner Linder made a motion to appoint the aforementioned to the Tax Appeal Board, Commissioner Humbert seconded the motion, all present voted in favor, motion passed.

The Board recessed for lunch. The Board reconvened after lunch, Commissioners Lund, Linder and Humbert were present with the clerk.

Royal Bartole met with the Board to discuss the right of way easement that the County has by the Whitetail Dam.
