City Business . . .

Taken from the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall.

REGULAR MEETING

Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with councilmen Scott Fishell, Paul Landeraaen and Jon Baker present. Councilman Axtman was absent. Also, in attendance were Brad Henderson, Leif Handran, Larry Donohue, Greg Lukasik Great West Eng., Pool Manager Tate Carney, City Attorney Ben Fosland, PWDSteveBerrethandClerk Sonya M. Southland.

Public Comment – Mayor Lekvold reported Larry Donohue requested the speed bump be removed on the south end of C Street. Discussion occurred. City felt by using speed bumps, adding additional signage and increasing patrolling would address the problem of people driving too fast on B and C Streets. Larry stated he feels there should be increased enforcement instead of purchasing more

signs and speed bumps.

Public Works Report – PWD Steve Berreth reported:

• Liquid Eng. Report - reviewed the bill for cleaning and inspecting the water tank. The report suggested the interior tank walls need to be recoated and there is significant corrosion to the floor panels and some deterioration/cracking of the cement pad. The tank is cleaned yearly but it wasn’t done last year due to scheduling conflicts of Liquid Engineering.

• The city has mailed out six ‘notice to cut nuisance vegetation’ letters. Homeowners are encouraged to cut and/or eliminate nuisance vegetation within ten days of the date of the notice. Discussed junk vehicles, the state statute and th...
