Taken from the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday,May7,2022 at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall.

REGULAR MEETING

Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with councilmen Seth Axtman, Paul Landeraaen and Jon Baker present. Councilman Scott Fishell was absent. Also, in attendance were Marshall Nelson,Wyatt Wilder (8:38), City Attorney Ben Fosland, PWD Steve Berreth and Clerk Sonya M. Southland.

Public Comment – Marshall Nelson made the recommendation to Council to revise the ordinances to allow backyard chickens with stipulations which may include no roosters, limit the number of hens, coop structure standards and the agreement owners would take on all liability. Marshall suggested maybe to do a trial period of two years. He also added it could really benefit some people in town and would be happy to help write a draft amendment. Mayor Lekvold
