Whether Weather Cooperates Or Not It Is Golf Season

 

The Scobey High School golf teams are scheduled to compete in their first meet of the season Tuesday, April 19.

The only problem — and this never happens in spring golf — could be the weather.

The Richey-Lambert Invitational is set for that day on the 18-hole Sidney Golf Course. The problem is the forecast for Montana’s Sunrise City on that day is calling for a high temperature of 38 degrees above zero, and in this region it usually is established in the 3-5 p.m. time frame. That means the temperature for the 9 a.m. opening tee-off could be below the freezing mark and warm up to the low-to-mid 30s by 12 noon. Who knows if the wind will chime in on the situation and makes things even cooler!

Two days later on the 21st is the Wolf Point Invitational, where the latest forecast as of the mid-morning hours of Tuesday, April 12, says: “Partly cloudy with temperatures as high as 59 degrees, wind out of the east/southeast at 14 miles per hour.”
