Local School Boards

Face Difficult Problem–

A resume of school legislation forwarded from the State Superintendent left it quite plain that the burden of support must fall almost entirely on local districts. Appropriations from the legislature make it possible for about $75 more next year per classroom. Other provisions include: It is now possible for county commissioners to levy a 10 mill maximum on county property for elementary schools instead of 8 mills, levy to be prorated on the average number belonging instead of on the census.
