Learning the hard way is sometimes the best way. We learned with these newer vehicles, at least the ones that are keyless and use only a fob, don’t leave the fob in the vehicle. It apparently keeps a constant conversation going with the vehicle computer and if left sitting idle for days, the battery will be drained. We’re not sure how many years this goes back. We just have a vehicle that doesn’t get out much anymore and thought the cup holder was a good spot for the extra fob. Guess not, get it at least four feet from the vehicle.

Maybe there should be a few less micro-chips in
