Fifteen Huddle In One

Car; Escape Death–

A treacherous lull Sunday in a freezing, blinding 5-day snowstorm in northeastern Montana ended so quickly Sunday afternoon that personal disaster threatened everyone who could not take immediate shelter.

Concern was directed that evening toward the hopeless plight of eight adults and seven children, who were in cars between Scobey and Flaxville. These people had left Scobey after the Sunday matinee. Two miles out of Flaxville the missing cars had bogged in the snow Sunday afternoon, they decided to get in one car – fifteen people. They waited, at midnight the car heater stopped, the car was out of gas. They were found Monday morning....
