Hospital Board Looking Hard At Facility Upgrade

 

DanielsMemorialHealthcare Center board of directors has decided something needs to be done to the local aging hospital facility. The primary reason is that the aging structure, which opened in 1952, has many negative issues.

Estimates are that $8-$12 million would be needed to fix existing issues and make upgrades. Some of these issues are ongoing and have been dealt with on a maintenance basis such as roof repairs, heating and air conditioning replacement etc. The sewer line is nearing end of life under the Physical Therapy department. They say these issues only scratch the surface.

One of the goals is to move the PT department out of the basement, giving patients better access as this is a growing part of the service offered. A...
