BASKETBALL — We found out why:

The Leader tracks the scores of every team in the District 3C and District 2C for girls' and boys' basketball. Try as we may we could not find the Friday, December 17, North Country Mavericks at Dodson Coyotes final scores. Finally, on Thursday, December 23, we placed a telephone call to Phillips County News newspaper Publisher-Editor Pierre Bibbs who covers sports for the weekly because we knew he would have the answer. It wasn't the answer we were expecting but his answer was: "It was postponed due to a referee shortage."

Time change: When the Scobey basketball teams return to game action following the Christmas break they are scheduled to play the North Country Mavericks on Friday, January 7, 2022 in Hinsdale. All the printed schedules say it is the usual 3 p.m. (JVG), 4:30 p.m. ...
