Week 3 Is Here With A Trio Of 8-Player Top Seeds Still Alive

They weren’t deemed number one in their divisions for nothing.

Three of the four Class C 8-Player top-seeded teams in the 16-team statewide playoff bracket are still in the hunt for the Montana High School Association state championship.

One of them is the Park City Panthers (9-1, 460-240, 46.0-24.0), the top seed of the South Division. They dispatched the Scobey Spartans, third out of the East Division, 32-20 on a beautiful fall day in the eastern section of Stillwater County. The Panthers get to prowl 422 miles one-way to Previs Field in Thompson Falls (11-0, 573-124, 52.011.2), the top seed out of the West Division, which belted Belt 31-10 last weekend in the quarterfinals.

The Flint Creek (Drummond-Philipsburg) Titans (9-0, 495-171, 55.0-19.0) are the second seed in the West Division and defending 8-player champion. They stopped Fairview 32-14 along the Montana-North Dakota state line last Saturday and travel to Fort Benton (9-1, 396-216, 39.6-

21.6), the top seed out of the North Division. That's "just"

226 one-way miles from Philipsburg. Kickoff at Longhorn Field is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, November 13, as is the other 8-Player semifinal.<...
