Scobey Stingrays Swim Team Earns State 3rd-Place Trophy

 

Trio Of Stingrays Earn High-Point Awards

Ivy Cole (11-12) — 50 free, 33.43, 5th; 50 breast, 45.75, 6th; 50 back, 43.09, 5th.

Kennadi Cromwell (11-12) —

200 IM, 3:46.96, 14th; 50 breast, 48.08, 10th; 50 fly, 46.36, 12th.

Ashtynn Fladager (11-12) —

The Scobey Stingrays swim team had huge success last weekend at the Montana Federation of Swimmers State Meet way out west in Columbia Falls by placing third overall in a field of 20 teams.

The Stingrays of coach Tate Carney scored 488.5 points, trailing only state champion Sidney Tiger Sharks with 828 points and runnersup Lewistown Sea Lions with 770.5.

The Stingrays had three competitors earning High-Point Awards, led by 10-year-old Emery Rouse who won the 100-meter freestyle, 50-meter butterfly and 50-meter freestyle for a perfect score of 42. She set the pool record in her 50-meter freestyle race.
