The sky south of Scobey in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 17, was dominated with lightning dancing this way, that way and every which way. At the same time the Gaustad twins, Cooper and Tucker, were headed home to their ranch, traveling south on Highway 13. Cooper was driving, Tucker was in the passenger’s seat. Suddenly a bolt of lightning came down and struck one of the salt water tanks at the “Rask” oil well site on the west side of the highway about 14 miles south of Scobey.
