Big news on the local swim-team front: Kolten Machart broke another 50-meter breaststroke pool record and five very young Scobey Stingrays ages 4-5 experienced their first-everin-the-water meet action.

First the record breaker.

Machart, who has already established the pool record for the 50-meter breaststroke in the Glendive (39.94) and Glasgow (39.48) swim meets earlier this season, did it for a third time last weekend at the Plentywood Meet. His time was 38.08 and coupled with wins in the 200-meter IM and 50-meter fly he was a high-point winner. So were his teammates 9-year-old Siri Moran and 10-year-old Emery Rouse in the 9-10 age division, who both placed first twice and second once for 40 points each to share their age group’s High-Point Award.
