At AAA Office –

Applications for soil practice payments in 1945 total approximately 650; this figure constitutes more than 80 percent of the total farm units in Daniels County (800). Payments are made on the basis of commitments made before spring planting in regard to seeding of flax, strip farming and protected summer fallow. Amount paid cannot exceed such commitment and is according to actual acres under such practice, such as flax seeding $5 an acre, strip farming 50 cents an acre and protected summer fallow 50 cents an acre. Applications for payment for 1945 practices were not received after January 15.
