Delayed B-Ball Season Begins With Practice On Mon., Dec. 7

All the information is in, well, almost all of it, for the 2020-21 Montana High School Association (MHSA) prep basketball season.

Be forewarned, however, it is all subject to change — minorly, majorly, possibly all of it!

The first official high

school hoop practices normally go the following Monday after the MHSA state championship football games are played on a Saturday afternoon, usually the third weekend of November.

Usually, in this instance, they would have begun on Monday, November 23, but the MHSA pushed it back two weeks to Monday, December 7, for reasons needing no explanation.

This didn’t mean individuals could not go into their respective school gymnasiums and work on their post moves, 3-pointers and those always-important free throws. The Scobey boys, the defending Class C State Basketball co-champions, were barely off their return-trip bus ride from Drummond and the Class C 8-Player State Championship Football Game before quickly segueing into gymrat mode (they arrived in Scobey mid-afternoon on Sunday, November 22 and were in the Scobey large gymnasium within an hour later!).
